Alice.com has a very clear objective: to help you save money and time while keeping track of the stuff we normally forget to buy.screenshot.1

You start by creating an account, providing a small amount of info about you (how many people are in your family?) and then Alice uses this information to build an empty shopping list.  As an example, I don’t have children, so kid’s toothpaste is not something that I need on my list (although I could have added it if … I were a bit strange).

screenshot.2Once you’ve got an empty  shopping list, you only have to supply the brand that you prefer for each item and the Alice will help you place your first order (see the picture to the left).  It’s not the most scintillating fun, but when it’s done, Alice will remind you of future orders (when it thinks you’ve run out) and get you coupons so you’re saving money.  That sure beats going aisle to aisle in the grocery store trying to remember the items on the list you left at home…
