OK, never mind, I think I figured it out. In the documentation for the WinGetTitle function’s first parameter it says “If this is the letter A and the next 3 parameters are omitted, the active window will be used” — so I assume this applies to the WinTitle function’s first parameter, too. In other words, that little detail is missing in the WinTitle function’s documentation.

I don’t understand how the “WID := WinExist(“A”)” statement returns in the ID of the active window — this usage does not appear to be in the AHK documentation. Seems like the “A” wouldn’t match any WinTitle so WinExist would return zero (rather than the currently active window). What am I missing?
